Ballance Agri-Nutrients first participated in the QCDSM System of Lean Management and Manufacturing as the result of an invitation from the Stabicraft Company in Invercargill. As part of the boating industry’s training organization, formerly known as BITO (The Boating Industry Training Organization) now known as NZ Marine, promotion of Lean manufacturing and Management and the opportunity for employees to obtain the Level 2 certificate in Competitive Manufacturing was offered. QCD Systems LTD, New Zealand, a branch of QCD Systems Inc in the USA, was commissioned to implement the QCDSM into various boat building yards.
Ballance, Awarua, was invited to send some delegates to the Try Z Seminar being held at the Stabicraft premises. This began the journey from which the whole of Ballance Agri-Nurtrients decided to implement QCDSM through their whole organization. This is an ongoing process for Ballance and the Try Z seminars depicted in these posts indicate the extent to which the company is prepared to become a lean company.
The following posts depict the participants and the results they achieved after learning how to apply Lean principles in a classroom situation.
